A while ago I saw an instagram photo of a friend and blogger who ate banana bread at a place in the city. This inspired me to make this dessert. This can also be used as a normal cake.
What ingrediënts you will need:
Base
- 200 grams of Flour
- 150 grams of Butter
- 50 grams of Sugar
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
Topping
- 2 Bananas
- 1 little carton whipping cream (200ml)
- A bar of chocolate
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla
Preheat your oven to 160 degrees celcius.
Starting with the base we take the flour, butter, cocoa powder and sugar and put them together in a bowl to mix them. Make sure the butter is in small pieces so you can mix it better.
When you have mixed everything to a proper dough you can place the dough in the form. I used a rectangular dish and placed baking paper (greaseproof paper) on the bottom so it wont stick. You can also apply a coat of melted butter on the dish for that.
Now place the dish into the oven and let it stay there for about 45 minutes. Check regularly that it doesnt burn. Not all ovens and product reactions are the same.
When you get the base out of the oven let it cool down a bit before applying the top.
Cut the bananas in little slices and add a bit of lemon juice to keep them from getting brown soon.
Put the whipping cream into a bowl and add vanilla. Then whipp it up till it is a strong cream.
Apply the cream on the base of the cake. When you have an even layer of cream you can add the slices of banana.
Take a piece of the chocolate bar and put it into a little bowl and microwave that till it is melted fully. Then pour it over the banana slices to add the chocolate strings look to it.
Place the leftover chocolate on a flat surface and then use a big knife to scrape it. You will get nice chocolate shavings which you can use to decorate the cake. Finish it of with some powdered sugar.
Done!
Sounds super yummy! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
